Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Theatre Technician Cattle Call work exactly?
The Theatre Technician Cattle Call is very similar to an acting cattle call. Your company’s representative will be seated behind a large group of tables with all of the other company representatives. An applicant’s resume will be handed out to the group, and then they are ushered into the room. Each applicant is given eight minutes in front of the group during which you are able to ask them any questions about their resume and experiences that are relevant to what you are looking for. Approximately one week before the event you will be sent a link to a Dropbox folder which contains individual folders, divided by categories, of everyone who has signed up for an appointment slot. These folders contain PDFs of the applicant’s resume. On the days of the Technician Cattle Call we will photograph each applicant and include their photo in the same folder.
Is there a cost to attend?
No. Participation in the Theatre Technician Cattle Call has been free to all participants on both sides of the table for as long as it has been under it’s current management. We are dedicated to having that policy remain.
Are there any requirements to be an auditor?
The only requirement is that auditors are there as a representative of a company with a Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN). This is done to provide some measure of security for the applicants, whose personal information such as phone number and address are typically on their resume. If your company is unknown to us, we may ask you to provide us with some evidence that it is a legitimate employer.
How do I sign up to send a company representative?
Send an email with the name of your company, the location, and who will be attending on your behalf.
